Jane Foster Designs, Fabric That Makes You Go Ooh!

Scandinavian Style Spring Chicken Cushion Cover

Fabric design with a beguiling charm all of it's own.  I found Jane Foster Design on Etsy some time ago and was really pleased when she agreed to let me Blog her designs. I found the more I researched her the more I liked her work, contemporary vintage!

Tilda a Cute Retro Fabric Softie Doll
A very clever doll kit that you make yourself, great to make and give as a gift or give the kit to someone you know loves to sew!

Screen Printed Daisy and Mary Quant Fabric Cats
These kitties are just so fab and Tres Chic!  They would be great dotted around the house to add colour here and there.
Scandinavian Style Atomic Fabric Cushion

More of this please!  I love the citrus colours, true eye candy - really brightening up the senses!  Just what you need round the house during the drab winter months.
Scandinavian Style Sausage Dog Cushion Cover
Woof woof!  Fun and yet dashing, a very handsome dog indeed.
Jane Foster is an artist living in Totnes, Devon in the UK and has a studio at home to design and sew.  She's been screen printing for many years and is strongly influenced by Scandinavian Design.  In particular she likes design from the 50's and 60's and has a large collection of fabrics and ceramics from these periods.

Her other influences are Marimekko fabric designs and the work by Lucienne Day.  Also the artwork by Dick Bruna (Miffy's Creator) and Alain Gree.  Fabric that appeals to her are bold, simple, happy designs, which appeal to children and adults alike.

She's had designs on bags, aprons and cushions and has also designed many items of clothing and rag dolls for the new re-launched
Clothkits (which I will be reviewing at a later date).

Six of her one colour screen prints were sold as cards in
Habitat and 3 are being sold as posters. She's also designed many cards for The Art Group.  She is currently working on the design for a range of 8 mugs to be in the shops later on in the year.

This really is a very small example of her fantastic designs, check out
WebsiteBlogEtsy and Online Shop to buy and inspire!
